SWAPO Party Youth League

The SWAPO Party Youth League (SPYL) is the youth wing of the South West Africa People's Organization.

In 2007, SPYL called protests against a visit by Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe "reactionary and unpatriotic".^[1]

In August 2008, SPYL called on President Hifikepunye Pohamba to create a Ministry of Religion so that the government can support Christian Churches in support Namibia's poor. In the same statement, the SYL called for a reduction in benefits to the heads of parastatals and for a dialogue with White Namibian youth.^[2]
